Short Cultural Tour in Batumi

Adjara is the Autonomous Republic of Georgia is located on the south-eastern coast of the Black Sea and extends into the wooded foothills and mountains of the Lesser Caucasus. It has borders with the region of Guria to the north, Samtskhe-Javakheti to the east and Turkey to the south. Most of Ajaria's territory either consists of hills or mountains. The highest mountains rise more than 3,000 meters (9,840 ft) above sea level. Around 60% of Ajaria is covered by forests. Many parts of the Meskheti Range (the west-facing slopes) are covered by temperate rain forests. 

Batumi is a seaside city on the Black Sea coast and capital of Adjara. Batumi, with its large port and commercial center, is also the last stop of the Transcaucasian railroad and the Baku oil pipeline. It is situated some 20 km (12 mi) from the Turkish border, in a subtropical zone, rich in citrus fruit and tea. Industries included shipbuilding, food processing, and light manufacturing. 

Day 1:  Arrival to Batumi Airport, where you will be met by the representatives of EcoTour-Ge, transfers to the hotel, traditional Georgian dinner, overnight in Batumi.

 Day 2: Visit of Sea Boulevard (a famous seaside park, or Boulevard which is along the sea founded by a famous German gardener Resler and lately by a prominent gardener D’Alfons. A great Georgian gardener – decorator Iason Gordeziani had also done a great contribution to the decoration of the park, as of the London Botanical Gardens), Ardagani lake (an important centre of tourism, two artificial islands, amphitheatre and many cafes are arranged on the lake), 6th May park / Nurigeli lake (located in the city of Batumi), The Cathedral of the St. God Mother (a gothic temple, built of peculiar   stones, changing their colours in dependence of weather), Batumi Museum of Archaeology, Botanical Garden (which is on the slopes of Mtsvane Kontskhi (the Green Cape) in Adjara covered with wonderful intact Colchic forests that counted centuries of age), overnight in Batumi. 

Day 3: Visit of Mtirala National Park (established in 2006 through initiative of the Government of Adjara Autonomous Republic and the Agency of Protected areas of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources with WWF’s assistance and financial support provided by the Norwegian Government), Batumi Sea Port (the main purpose of port is the uninterrupted cargo handling and passenger service), overnight in Batumi.

Day 4: Visit of Batumi old churches: the Cathedral of the St. Nicolas Church (built in 1865), St. Barbara church (built in 1865), Gregorian Church (built in 1885 by the project of the Austrian Architect- Morfeld, and the donation by the famous businessman- Mantashev), Synagogue (built in the beginning of the 20-th century, in 1993 it was  returned to Jewish Diaspora), Gonio Fortress (dates from 8th-7th centuries BC. You can follow the ancient tradition, the rise of Apsarus as a settlement is related to the expedition of the Argonauts to Aeaea-Colchis which in the view of the scholars, should be dated to the end of the 15th-14th centuries BC or to the first half of the 13th century BC.), farewell dinner, overnight in Batumi. 

Day 5: Check-out the hotel, free time (shopping), departure from Batumi airport.

Note: Duration of the tour will be fit to your arrival and departure Flights. You can arrive in Tbilisi or Batumi airports. Arrival place should be negotiated with us as EcoTour-Ge takes responsibility to meet you at the airport. You have alternative choice: you can arrive in Georgia via Turkey! Our representatives can meet you at the border of Turkey- right at the custom offices in Sarpi.

Price includes: Transfer from and to Batumi (or Tbilisi) Airport, Inland transportation, Interpreter, Tour guide, Georgian wine and beer, Hotel accommodation (In the cities), Guest house accommodation (in the villages), 3 times meal a day, Souvenir, Museums entrance fees.
